You will be responsible for testing changes made to policy calculations and finance functionality, and providing assurance that product requirements are met before changes are implemented in the live environment.

Testing performed by the Calculation and Finance Assurance Team encompasses terminations, regular policy charges, finance and projections.

You will be working in a busy change environment and will play a crucial role in testing calculation manual tools and will take the lead on small change projects.

Key responsibilities

  • Review requirement documentation and calculation specifications.
  • Build calculation test plans and select appropriate test policies.
  • Train to become a subject matter expert in Life and Pension policy calculations.
  • Execute tests using manual calculation tools and take the lead on small change projects.
  • Analyse and interrogate results against requirements.
  • Work with appropriate Analysts and Developers to determine the root cause of any errors.
  • Raise defects and follow these through to successful resolution.
  • Ensure all testing meets appropriate documentation standards.
  • Support Analysts by running work-plans and cycling test environments for projects involving ALPHA changes.
  • Support Analysts by coordinating updates for management dashboards.

Key skills/experience required

  • Advanced MS Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Solid mathematical aptitude.
  • Ability to work and make effective decisions under pressure.
  • Ability to think analytically and be a creative problem solver.
  • Ability to gather and interpret relevant data and information.
  • Ability to explain complex concepts in well-structured messages.
  • Ability to learn how to write SQL queries using PL/SQL and Q&E.
