Job summary

ReAssure are looking to recruit a dedicated Correspondence POD Lead to join our team within the ADS function.  The position will be based in Telford on a Permanent basis.  This vacancy represents an opportunity to join one of Telford’s largest employers, within an ever changing environment where you will discover the potential to perform and grow.

The main purpose of the role as Correspondence POD Lead, is to act as lead technical authority on one or more projects, overseeing technology selections and implementation strategies for Correspondence Solutions. Responsible for ensuring that all Correspondence IT strands of the project are designed and specified in appropriate detail for the design/development team to work from, and ensuring the ongoing integrity of the design of the system. Responsible for a team of assigned designers or developers in delivering solutions to the business.

Key responsibilities

  • Work with the wider project team, e.g. Project Managers, Technical Architects, Solution Architects, Business Analysts and Enterprise Architects, in the effective delivery of solutions.
  • Act as a Correspondence solution knowledge expert on 1 or many programmes/projects, overseeing technology selections and implementation strategies.
  • Lead a sub team (POD) of designers/developers in building in line with the defined letter specifications, producing the:
    • Design or Development and testing estimates
    • Risks and issues
    • Other artefacts as agreed with the Lead Technical Architect and Solution Architect or which form part of the IT Change Delivery Lifecycle (ITCDL)
    • Logical and Physical Design Models
  • Ensuring that all deliverables are developed to agreed and appropriate time, budget and quality
  • Mentor and support team members on assigned projects so they meet their objectives and targets while offering performance related evidence regarding their development to senior management.
  • Be the Correspondence solution knowledge authority during defect triage and defect resolution
  • Interact and negotiate with other project representatives and stakeholders to achieve mutually agreeable results.
  • Carry out appropriate levels of review and quality assurance of the solution
  • Produce and maintain appropriate and agreed documentation in line with Admin Re UK standards.
  • Lead an Correspondence Solution POD in the planning and delivery of correspondence changes to relevant projects within defined release(s)
  • Provides motivational team leadership across an Correspondence Solution to ensure the effective delivery of change project deliverables
  • Leads an effective, best in class team of designers/developers, ensuring detailed design/development activity is delivered to plan in a way that meets the project’s documented requirements, is proactively managed with no surprises and minimal delays, and all performance management activities (121s, reviews) are undertaken to the required timelines
  • A senior member of the Correspondence Team, thereby contributing to the effective running of the function, providing support and cover for other POD Leads colleagues, and ensuring it continues to deliver value to the business
  • Monitor quality and productivity metrics for team performance, help target where improvements need to be made and demonstrate those improvements that have been made.
  • Provide technical consultancy on and take technical ownership of correspondence software changes acting as the point of contact / escalation / technical guidance.
  • Work together with the Development Delivery Managers, Release Manager and Test Delivery Manager to act as the nucleus in the management of the delivery of their Portfolio’s releases.
  • Be the correspondence solution technical point of escalation and guidance for their assigned projects
