We are looking to recruit a dedicated Internal Model Development Contractor into the Financial Management (Actuarial & Finance) division. The position is based in Telford, on a contract basis. Key responsibilities

  • Build, test and maintain statistical and financial models for use in the internal model.
  • Perform data analysis and quality assessments to derive an appropriate structure and calibration for the L&G business.
  • Develop interactive and robust End User Applications (EUA) that perform key tasks and automate processes for data collection, preparation and testing.
  • Perform stochastic simulations to calculate capital and solvency for a variety of business initiatives (Transactions and strategic asset allocation) using existing tools.
  • Build relationships and liaise with key personnel involved in the L&G transactions to support delivery of the above.
  • Interact with the teams developing the WTW RAFM (Moses) models and running the Moodys RI based internal model platform to ensure proposed solutions will work within ReAssure’s infrastructure for regular reporting.
  • Produce high quality documentation and deliver presentations to key stakeholders to meet internal model governance requirements.

Key skills/experience required

  • You will have a Mathematical aptitude ideally in probability and statistics.
  • You will have the ability to be able to develop models across a diverse variety of subjects with an attention to detail.
  • Ability to be flexible and work in high pressure situations.
  • Good communications skills and ability to form relationships with business partners.
  • Skills in MS Office including Word, Outlook and Excel.
  • Coding and modelling experience (in MatLab, R, or similar) that can be applied to financial and statistical models.
  • At least a 2:1 in numerate degree.
