Job summary

ReAssure, part of Phoenix Group are recruiting a Junior Actuarial developer to join our team within the Finance function. The position will preferably be based in Telford. For external and FTC internal applicants the role is on a fixed term contract basis. For permanent internal applicants this role is on a permanent basis. You will be responsible for supporting the regular cycle of modelling changes and enhancements, in particular with regards to model developments within RAFM.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Changing model code, performing test runs, analysing results and assisting in writing up any documentation of the process.
  • Assist project related work, like migrations and integration of new blocks of business.
  • Assist with code changes and other developments needed to upgrade RAFM software version and/or calculation engine.
  • Providing assistance to BAU and the Operation Support Team regarding any model-based queries, including regression testing and UAT of any model changes in RAFM.
  • Produce documentation around model developments as and when they are made.

Key skills/experience required:

  • General understanding of actuarial processes and of the life insurance industry.
  • Ability to debug issues that arise during the testing process and apply an appropriate solution.
  • Ability to learn how to use Actuarial modelling software in order to create and amend model code as part of model developments.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with BAU, the Operational Delivery team, and other stakeholders in Finance.
  • Ability to take part in cross-functional teamwork where necessary.
