The role is part of the Risk Management function. The position will be based in Telford on a permanent basis. Key responsibilities

  • Supporting development and configuration of the enterprise risk management system.
  • Documenting key processes related to the risk management system.
  • Supporting the design and implementation of risk taxonomy and reporting to satisfy risk framework elements and provide consistent, meaningful information for risk owner actions.
  • Review and analyse risk information to identify risks, update risk inventory, facilitate management’s risk assessments
  • Engage appropriate stakeholders to identify potential control gaps.
  • Prepare and deliver enterprise risk reporting to various constituents, including boards of directors, executive and senior management, consultants, and regulators.
  • Recommend data requests and reports to improve risk monitoring within existing business.
  • Collaborate on the planning and performance of Risk Framework procedures to ensure that controls are adequately designed and operating effectively
  • Work collaboratively with the other 1st and 2nd line functions to ensure a joined up approach to oversight that takes advantage of the opportunities to gain knowledge and work efficiently.
  • Producing reports, presentations and various communications in line with the company standards

Key skills/experience required

  • Advanced experience and knowledge of risk management concepts and practices within the life insurance industry. Including risk identification, assessment, mitigation/control activities, monitoring and reporting.
  • Experience of developing Governance Risk and Compliance systems (ideally Magique Galileo), to support all aspects concerned with the efficient and successful operation of the tool and contribute to the provision of ongoing Risk Reporting.
  • Ability to analyse and understand complex business processes quickly, identifying key points and issues.
  • The ability to create and implement commercially sound solutions to a range of problems.
  • Strong communication skills both oral and written, including ability to convey complex situations and relationships concisely to management and executive level audiences in a straight forward and unambiguous manner.
  • Strong facilitation, collaboration, and teamwork skills with the ability to build cross-functional partnerships.
  • Flexible influencing skills required for engagement with management and staff at all levels within ReAssure, corporate clients and outsourcers.
  • Independence of thought, coupled with a willingness to raise concerns and challenge the status quo in a constructive manner.
  • Capable of managing own work load, whilst working as a team in a professional, cooperative and mutually supportive manner.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
